Lobby and
Advocacy
This program promotes
the building and consolidation of a strong civil society. It empowers the civil society to
negotiate, find consensus and interact with the local governments to initiate processes of
local and regional development, political influence, citizen participation, environmental
issues, commissions of transparency, social audits, strategic community planning and more.
Pastoral and Equality
This program has as a
strategic objective to promote the concept of social responsibility of local governments
and actors in the civil society. And to commit them to the development of communities
practicing the right principles, social values and ethics and to take action against
social exclusion, individualism, corruption and social and economic inequality.
Management of Social and Economical
Projects
In this program CASM
helps and encourages the social actors to initiate projects to overcome problems that
affect the social and economical development of communities. This program seeks to satisfy
immediate needs such as food security, the use of natural resources, and income-generating
initiatives.
Risk Management
In this area the focus
is on a culture of prevention and preparation for natural disasters. This requires changes
in the structure of local and regional organizations. Because of the dynamic character of
the environment in Honduras, there is a need for a systematic approach on the issue of
risk management that contributes to a better exertion of the natural resources and other
elements that affect the environment. This means more care for prevention, modification
and risk-reduction.
We strive for an
increase of knowledge and consolidation of organizational capacity of communities. The
focus is on the implementation of risk management in the development policies of local and
regional communities with a high vulnerability.
Organizational Development
The implementation of
processes of organizational strengthening is focused on the improvement of organizational
methods, internal processes and work style. CASM continuously trains its human
resources at all organizational levels in order to consolidate its organizational
knowledge and experience. In this way CASM is able to maintain a high and
sustainable quality of work and obtain optimal use of the available resources.
